The Lion King is a cartoon, I saw it with my children.
Mufasa, a lion, was the King of the Pride Lands. The King of Kings. He had a brother, Scar, a companion, Sarabi.
Scar believed to be superior to Mufasa, but, to his misfortune, only less physically strong.
The birth of the son of Mufasa, Simba, it changes from a second waiting to a for ever after.
Scar decides to eliminate Simba, agreeing with the Hyenas, to restore its future. The thing does not succeed because of the intervention of Mufasa.
That being the case, Scar organizes the complete elimination of what relegates him in the role of eternal second.
Also through the Hyenas, manages the fears of the herd of wildebeest, directing it so as to create a dangerous situation for Simba, that involves the intervention of Mufasa.
Following the chaos generated Mufasa, thanks to Scar, dies. Simba disappears from the scene for quite a while, filled with guilt.
Scar, self-made man, comes to power. The settlement statement:
"This raises the dawn of a new era in which lions and hyenas will work together to build a great and glorious future."
Its administration of power was not the best and led to famine (a food were the wildebeest).
The story lends itself to various interpretations. For example you could make a parallel with the recent events in national policy, assigning the role of Mufasa and consequently the roles of Simba, Scar, the Hyenas to get to the fateful
O mithos Deloi oti, The fable shows that ....
Among the many, what I thought was most interesting is the role of the Wildebeest (Gnu).
The Wildebeest live in herds on their own, are the element without which the protagonists can not survive.
Mufasa, Scar, the Hyenas are parasites of Wildebeest, derive their livelihood from them, devouring them.
The wildebeest briefly become active players only when they are used by parasites for their own purposes.
Scar uses the fears of the herd to achieve power. He and the hyenas represent the level immediately below the power that aspires to power, those who died on their leader, crying more or less the disappeared, are wondering who among them will replace it.
For wildebeest little change, still the same life as before: the herd, food for parasites and predators, lives only thanks to his art of getting by.
The fable shows that the herd, mere food for parasites and predators, is made to be the protagonist by whom eats it, using his fears, only to get the change of power of those who eat it.
Are You a wildebeest ?
